Local Filming Tips (Save Your Crew Time)

TOPICQUICK ADVICE
PermitsApply through the City of Orlando Permitting services online portal. If you’re shooting near Lake Eola Park, book off-duty OPD traffic officers to manage pedestrian flow around the fountain path.
WeatherSummer afternoons often spike from 78°F to 95°F and pop up lightning storms within minutes; pack easy-grab rain covers and keep a lightning app open to pause drones when strikes are within 10 miles.
ParkingDowntown curb lanes need a City Right-of-Way / meter-bag permit for box trucks and vans, submit at least 3 business days ahead to lock spots and avoid surcharge tiers.
SoundContinuous jet departures on the MCO flight path peak 7 AM–10 AM and 5 PM–8 PM; schedule critical dialogue or VO pickups outside those windows, or use interiors with double-pane glass.

What It's Like Filming in Orlando

For this two-day production with BrainTap, our team captured athlete interviews focused on performance, recovery, and how BrainTap supports their training routines. Filmed across Orlando and Gainesville, we produced structured sit-down interviews using a 4K camera package, professional audio, and controlled lighting to maintain a clean, consistent look across all subjects.

In post-production, the individual athlete interviews were edited into a cohesive compilation piece designed for promotional use. The final video functions as a branded commercial testimonial, combining multiple athlete perspectives into one polished marketing asset. In addition to video production, we also provided professional photography to support digital campaigns and brand marketing materials.

Beverly Boy Productions is the best! We hired them for a shoot and they were professional, quick to communicate, so nice, and easy to work with. I highly recommend!

Anastasia Keating

Fantastic professionals that exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to working with them again.

Harman Professional Solutions

I’m a freelance camera operator in Orlando and have worked with Beverly Boy Productions on three projects over the past few years. Each shoot was organized, professional, and ran on time. Call sheets were clear, communication was solid, and the team respected the freelance crew.

Max Lenz

Despite some tight time constraints, Beverly Boy Productions kept everything running smoothly and on schedule. Felice and her team’s time management skills were truly impressive, and they were always able to adapt quickly to any changes that arose.

Terry Cristain

Lana at Beverly Boy has been extremely helpful in finding me videographers in multiple locations across the country, sometimes at extremely short notice. The process has always been smooth, simple, and a huge relief.

Evan Stultz

Hired them for an exterior commercial shoot — not always the easiest conditions. The crew was well crafted, and the lighting techniques they used were truly top-notch. Gordon and his crew were able to create a range of different lighting setups to suit each scene.

Common Questions

FAQs — Hiring a Videographer in Orlando

Half-day, single-camera shoots in Orlando generally run $1,700–$2,100, while multi-day projects with a Local 600 DP, IATSE Local 477 crew, Inspire-class drone work, and full post fall in the $12K–$18K range. Permit fees from Film Orlando, off-duty OPD traffic control, and rush-edit requests all shift the total, so we issue a transparent, line-item bid that lets you tune scope before green-lighting.
Most weeks we’re rolling tourism promos and social reels along hotel rooftops off International Drive, filming corporate explainers inside Lake Nona’s tech hubs, and live-streaming trade shows at the Orange County Convention Center. We round things out with influencer pieces at Disney Springs and grassroots mini-docs in Parramore, so the slate jumps from glossy brand work to community stories without missing a beat.
For weekday shoots, 2–3 weeks is usually enough lead time to secure crews and permits. Convention-season weekends (especially around I-Drive corridor events) fill up faster, so 4–6 weeks is recommended during peak periods to lock in your preferred crew and locations.
Yes. We handle the full permit process through the City of Orlando Permitting services online portal and the Orlando Film Commission. This includes location scouting, parking logistics, booking off-duty OPD traffic officers, and managing right-of-way permits for equipment vehicles downtown.
Absolutely. Our ground crews operate Sony FX9/FX6, RED V-RAPTOR X, and ARRI ALEXA Mini LF systems. For aerial, we fly DJI Inspire 3 drones with FAA Part 107 certified pilots and hold a Class B airspace waiver for the MCO corridor, which covers most of the Orlando metro area.

A polished 3-minute video typically falls within our Tier 2 ($2,500–$4,500) to Tier 3 ($4,500–$7,500) pricing range, depending on complexity, number of shoot locations, crew size, and post-production requirements. Simple interview-style videos land on the lower end, while multi-location pieces with graphics and licensed music fall on the higher end.
